Join us for an amazing 2-day photography workshop by Rehan Zia! LIMITED SEATS and an AMAZING OPPORTUNITY to learn from an INTERNATIONAL PRO PHOTOGRAPHER!

This is a basic to advanced level workshop where you will be working at your own pace under Rehan's instructions. This will not only help give you a firm understanding of art, craft and science of photography but also help fill any gaps more seasoned photographers may have in their knowledge and workflow. We will be exploring everything from camera acquisition and lighting through to post-production techniques employed by Rehan. We will be looking at landscape, beauty, fashion and portrait photography genres. Starting with photography theory, camera functions, lighting theory, health and safety, and, studio protocol and quickly move on to the practical studio lighting setups. You will be working in small groups of 4-5 people that will alternate between the different setups in order to maximise your exposure across different types of lighting and looks and allow you in-depth hands on pracitce.

Indicative plan for the day 1:

9:00 am Introductions

9:30am: Briefing, photography theory, case studies + key concepts explained

11:30am: First photography session

1:30 pm - 2:30pm Lunch break followed by feedback session and 2nd briefing. Exploring lighting setups

2:30 pm - 5:00 pm: Second photography session followed by debrief.

What you need to bring:
A camera with flash hotshoe (preferably DSLR) with fully charged battery and memory card.
Any additional lenses that you might have.
A tripod would be very useful but is not essential.
A laptop with Lightroom, Photoshop and Photomatix would be useful if you want to work on your images on day 2.

About the instructor:
Rehan Zia is a photographer, a visual effects artist, a filmmaker, a researcher and an academic. He has a passion for telling stories through light, form and colour and creating images that lie on the cusp of fantasy and realism. He teaches a wide range of visual effects related courses at the National Centre for Computer Animation, Bournemouth University, UK. As a professional photographer, he takes on commissioned work and runs photography workshops along the southwest coast of England.

Rehan’s on-going PhD research is based on his photography practice. He has exhibited work at a number of group and solo exhibitions and his images have featured in print and on the BBC.
